Tip 3 in “Relax and Connect” is learn to ask open-ended questions.
“The art of conversation lies in listening.”
– Malcom Forbes
Do you feel worried about what to say? Don’t worry, you’ll figure out what to say later. By asking good open-ended questions, you can relax and listen. Listening is half of communication. Some people would say more than half. Practice deeply listening in order to understand, rather than focusing on how you will reply. Then you are engaging in a meaningful conversation.

To get someone talking, ask them an open-ended question.
This is one that cannot be answered with a simple yes or no.
Begin your questions with…
How. . . ?
What. . . ?
How do you. .. . ?
What do you think about. . . .?
What happened. . . ,?
What did you. . . ?
What would you. . . ?
Go ahead and complete these question stems by asking me a question.
Use the button below to record your question and send it to me. I’ll reply in my next blog post.
Let’s have a casual conversation and get to know each other.
